MEMPHIS, TENN. – The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team fell to No. 22 Memphis by a score of 84-65 on Sunday afternoon at FedEx Forum.
With the loss to the nationally ranked Tigers (22-5, 12-2 in American Athletic Conference play), the Owls move to 15-12, 8-6 AAC on the season
In an early defensive-oriented battle, neither team found a bucket for the first two minutes until a steal from redshirt junior forward
Tre Carroll led to a score on the other end. He remained active on both ends of the floor, hauling in five early rebounds.

Matas Vokietaitis combined for 24 of the team's 32 points in the period while holding Memphis to under 40% from the field. The Owls built a six-point lead before the Tigers responded with a 14-0 run. Florida Atlantic closed the gap to five, entering the locker room trailing 37-32.
Carroll was an early spark for the Owls in the final 20 minutes, scoring back-to-back buckets inside, while junior guard
Leland Walker caught fire from downtown, drilling three triples.
FAU closed the game on an 8-0 run, culminating in consecutive triples from Carroll and junior forward
Baba Miller.
