BOCA RATON, Fla. – Helping lead the Owls to a 47-44 win over Western Kentucky with a career-best performance, Florida Atlantic women's basketball guard
Zahira Arizmendi was recognized as an American Conference Honorable Mention selection, as announced by the league office on Monday.
The honor marks the second American weekly award for the Owls this season and Arizmendi's first career American honorable mention selection.
Arizmendi led the Owls in the win over WKU, scoring a career-high 14 points, shooting 50% (5-of-10) from the field and 50% (4-of-8) from three-point range. She also collected a pair of steals, as well as dishing out an assist and grabbing a board in the Owls' win over the Hilltoppers.

The Owls will host the FGCU Eagles on Friday, Dec. 12 for their annual Education Day game. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN+ inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
