Cox Leads Owls on Monday in North Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Nancy Cox circled seven birdies in a second-round 68 and is in second place after 36 holes at the ECU Pirate Collegiate Classic. Florida Atlantic women's golf is in a tie for fifth place as a team. ECU's Lisa Forss holds a six-shot lead after posting a 62 in round two that featured 10 birdies and no bogeys. The Pirates (-10) also lead the team competition by 12 shots.

Quick Hits

Cox's day seemed to turn for the better as she neared the end of the opening round.
She was +3 as she came to the par-five 13th hole. After an eagle-three, she added birdies at 14 and 18 to get into red numbers for the day.
Cox kept the momentum going in the afternoon, birdieing her first two holes and going out in 34 (-2).
She added three more birdies on the back nine to shoot 68. The sophomore is six behind Forss entering Tuesday's final round.
