Florida Atlantic Sweep AAC Freshman Weekly Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's swimming and diving team has swept the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week honors, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Sophia Clack for the second time this season has been named AAC Freshman Diving Athlete of the Week while Ludo Pavia has been named the AAC Freshman Swimming Athlete of the Week.
Competing in their last home meet of the season on Saturday, Pavia captured four event victories for the Owls. She won both the 50 free and 100 free in times of 23.71 & 51.23. In addition, the freshman from Torino, Italy was a part of two Owl relays that captured first as the second leg on the 200 medley relay and third leg on the 200 free relay.
Clack had two top 10 finishes over the weekend, finishing seventh in the 3m diving (200.20) and ninth in the 1m diving (204.30). Thanks to the efforts of both freshmen, the Owls walked away from the meet victorious.
This is now Clack's second honor of the season and the Owls first time having an athlete named Freshman Swimming Athlete of the Week.

ON DECK
The Owls will get a weekend off before the women head south to face FIU. Hosted by the Panthers on Saturday, Feb. 1, the Owls will face FIU for the second time this year at Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. Following the one-day competition, both the men and women's teams will gear up for their respective conference championships held Feb. 19-22. The women will travel to Dallas, Texas for the American Athletic Conference Championships while the men will head to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.
