BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's basketball head coach
Jennifer Sullivan has announced new additions to the women's basketball team's support staff for the 2024-25 season.
The Owls add four new support staff members, including Michael Schiazza as director of women's basketball creative, Gabrielle Ball as assistant athletic trainer, Carson Molaro as strength and conditioning coach, and Mike Spilioupolous as video & scouting operations coordinator.
Michael Schiazza
Director Women's Basketball Creative
Schiazza joined Florida Atlantic women's basketball as the Director of Women's Basketball Creative in August 2024.
Before arriving in Paradise, Michael worked with Cards & Culture: Culture Media, creating multimedia advertisements and managing social media content creation. He also helped develop branding for physical and digital merchandise.
Prior to joining Cards & Culture, Schiazza served as a graphic design intern with Louisiana State University Football. He worked on creating weekly campus-wide graphics for games, events, and team updates, as well as helping create recruiting materials.
He also worked with BreakingT during his time at LSU, developing sports merchandise and creating print and digital advertisements.
Schiazza is currently working towards his master's degree at Florida Atlantic and received his bachelor's degree in digital advertising from LSU in 2023.
Gabrielle Ball
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Gabrielle joined Florida Atlantic Athletics in June 2024 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, working primarily with women's basketball and women's golf.
Prior to arriving in Paradise, Ball served as an Associate Athletic Trainer at Louisville, working directly with the nationally-ranked women's basketball team that earned an NCAA Tournament bid during the 2023-24 season. She first joined Louisville's staff in June 2021 as a seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer, working with the women's soccer and tennis teams before being elevated to Assistant Athletic Trainer in October 2021.
Prior to joining the Cardinals, Ball served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Lamar University, working primarily with the Cardinals' women's soccer team.
Ball received her master's degree in nutrition from Lamar University in 2021 and earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of West Florida in 2019. As an undergraduate student she worked primarily with football and baseball. During her final undergraduate semester, she had an internship with Pensacola Ice Flyers, a professional ice hockey team in Florida. She is a nationally certified athletic trainer and has additional certifications in Intravenous Fluid Therapy, Neurological Dry Needling Level One and Two, Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification, and is CPR/AED certified.
Carson Molaro
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Carson Molaro joined Florida Atlantic Athletics as a Strength and Conditioning Coach in August 2024.
Prior to arriving in Boca Raton, Molaro served as a performance coach at the University of Louisville, working directly with women's soccer, rowing, women's tennis, women's golf, and assisting the track and field team. She worked in the reconditioning unit as well as the speed unit.
Before joining the Cardinals, Molaro was a coaching assistant at Duke University in 2021, working closely with their women's soccer, swimming and diving, rowing, volleyball, wrestling, and men's lacrosse teams. She also served as a volunteer coach at Barton College from 2019 through 2020, working with their men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and cheer and dance teams.
Molaro received a master's degree in exercise physiology with a concentration in strength and conditioning from the University of Louisville in 2022. She obtained a bachelor's degree in exercise science and sports management from Barton College in 2020, where she also played collegiately. Molaro holds certifications through the NSCA, CSCCa, NASM, and is CPR/AED certified.
Michael Spilioupolous
Video & Scouting Operations Coordinator
Spilioupolous is currently working toward his master's degree in sports management at Florida Atlantic and was elevated to become the Owls' Video and Scouting Operations Coordinator in June 2024. He assists the coaching staff with scouting and video editing, as well as recruiting and managing the Owls' scout team practice players.
Prior to serving as the team's video and scouting operations coordinator, Spilioupolous served as a student manager and scout team practice player, helping the team with gameday and practice setup and breakdown, as well as community outreach events and office duties. With the scout team, Spilioupolous assisted with practices and gameday preparation.
Spilioupolous graduated from UCF with a Bachelor of Arts in entertainment management in August 2021. While at UCF, Spilioupolous served as a team student manager with the Knights' men's basketball team.
