DALLAS, Texas – The Florida Atlantic Owls' women's tennis team, ranked No. 63 nationally, saw their inaugural bid for an American Athletic Conference championship come to an end late Friday night. The No. 6 seeded Owls fell to Memphis, a No. 3 tourney seed, by a 4-1 score.

Florida Atlantic conceded the doubles point to the Tigers and then began singles play with Memphis taking the middle courts in straight sets. Trailing 3-0, the Owls battled on courts one, two, five and six. Memphis took court #6 and the match, but not before FAU's Victoria Gomez O'Hayon grabbed court #2 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Both Panna Bartha and Lexi Silna's matches were in the third set but were not completed.
