DENTON, Texas – Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team will hit the road for the final time in the 2023-24 regular season, taking on North Texas on Wednesday. Tip off will be at 8 P.M. EST, airing on ESPN+.
It will be a battle between the top offense and defense in the American Athletic Conference. The Owls are the number one scoring team in the AAC at 83.2 points per game, ranking 14th in the country, while the Mean Green allow just 60.2 points per game, first in the conference and seventh nationwide.
This marks the second meeting of the season between UNT and FAU. In their previous matchup on Jan. 28, junior guard
Johnell Davis knocked down the game winning three-pointer with just 0.4 on the clock to give the Owls the 66-63 victory. North Texas currently holds the series between the two teams at 14-9.

The Owls defeated Tulane for the second time this season in a 79-73 victory on March 2 at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena as FAU held the Green Wave to 10 points below their season average. Junior center Vlad Goldin and junior guard
Alijah Martin each recorded a double-double, Goldin with 21 points and 12 rebounds and Martin with 13 points and 11 boards, 10 of them coming in the first half.
- Goldin has scored 20+ points in five of his last six games, four in a row. The Russian native, who is fourth in the nation in field goal percentage at 66%, was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll for the fifth time this season
- Martin's 11 rebounds ties his career high
- Davis recorded five assists, improving his average to a career high 3.0 per game
- The Owls tied their season high with five blocks
- FAU is second in the standings during their inaugural American Athletic Conference play with a record of 12-4. Out of 14 AAC teams, the Owls are first in points per game (82.8) and field goal percentage (47.8%), and are second in assists per game (15.3)
- The Owls are the only team with two top 10 scorers in the conference. Davis is fourth in points per game (18.0) and Goldin is 10th (15.1)
- Despite being known for their defense, the Mean Green have the third best scorer in the conference with sophomore guard Jason Edwards averaging 18.3 points per game
One last game remains on the regular season schedule: a rematch against Memphis (22-8, 11-6 AAC), this time at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. Tip off will be at 12 p.m. EST and the game will air nationally on CBS.
