AUBURN, Ala. – Florida Atlantic men's golf finished ninth at the Auburn Tiger Invite on Tuesday in Alabama. The Auburn University Club continued to show its teeth with a second straight day of the average score hovering around 80 on the par 72. The Owls finished with a 54-hole team total of 927 (+63). The tournament hosts, Auburn, finished first with a total 880 (+16).
On the individual side, Auburn's J.M. Butler earned medalist honors at +2 despite a final round 77. No one in the field broke 70 in any of the three rounds.
- Max Sturdza led the Owls scoring in a tie for 28th (+13). The senior has been the Owls' best finisher in all seven events he's competed in this season.
- Tuesday started with the completion of Monday's second round where Jack Wehle had three holes to finish. The junior played those three holes in even par with a birdie, a par, and a bogey to sign for a 74. He would go on to tie for 39th at +15.
The Owls will compete in the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate beginning Sunday, March 25 in Wilmington, N.C.
