BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Owls head to the Lone Star State on Wednesday, Dec. 4 for a midweek top 10 battle against the No. 9-ranked TCU Horned Frogs. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET inside Schollmaier Arena and on ESPN+.
- The Florida Atlantic Owls enter the midweek matchup at 5-3 overall and as winners of two of their last three contests.
- As a team, the Owls lead the AAC in field goal percentage defense (.352) and 3-point percentage defense (.246), second in bench points per game (22.1), fouls per game (15.6), defensive rebounds per game (27.5), rebounds per game (41.75), and scoring defense (57.0), third in 3-point percentage (33.5) and 3-pointers per game (6.6), fourth in free throw attempts per game (18.88), rebounding margin (2.0), scoring margin (4.0), and winning percentage (.625), and fifth in offensive rebounds per game (14.3), 3-point attempts per game (19.8), and turnovers forced per game (19.0).
- The Owls are led offensively by Mya Perry, boasting a team-leading 12.9 points per game, and followed by Erin Rodgers and Jada Moore, averaging 11.8 and 10.5 points per game, respectively.
- Stefanie Ingram is the Owls' leading distributor, dishing out a team-leading 4.0 assists per contest this season.
- On the glass, the Owls are paced by Alana Rouser Rodgers, and Ta'Ziah Jenks, grabbing 5.9, 5.6, and 5.3 rebounds per game, respectively.
- Perry and Moore lead the Owls in assists, collecting 1.4 steals per contest.
- No. 9 TCU enters Wednesday's matchup unbeaten at 8-0 and are just coming off the Cayman Islands Classic where they defeated the No. 3-ranked Notre Dame Irish, 76-68, and the South Florida Bulls, 87-46. TCU's ninth-ranking marks the Horned Frogs highest in the program's history.
- The Horned Frogs are led offensively by Sedona Prince and Hailey Van Lith, who are averaging 20.1 and 19.9 points per game, respectively. Madison Conner is also averaging double figures for TCU, ranking third on the team with 15.9 points per game.
- Prince and Van Lith also lead the Horned Frogs on the glass, collecting 11.4 and 5.5 boards per game this season. Van Lith is also TCU's assists and steals leader, collecting 7.1 assists per game and 1.9 steals per game.
- The Horned Frogs blocking leader is Prince, recording 4.25 blocks per game.
- Wednesday marks the first all-time meeting between the Owls and the Horned Frogs.
- The Owls battled but fell in their Thanksgiving Classic finale against the Austin Peay Governors, 59-58.
- Mya Perry led the Owls in the contest, tying for a game-high 14 points, shooting 50 percent (5-of-10) from the field, 50 percent (2-of-4) from beyond the arc, and 100 percent (2-of-2) from the line. She also added a pair of assists and a steal.
- Jada Moore and Erin Rodgers also registered double figures in the contest, scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively.
- The Owls outscored the Governors in the first, 9-4, and the fourth, 16-13.
- Florida Atlantic held advantages in turnovers, 20-23, paint points, 30-26, points off turnovers, 20-16, second chance points, 14-10, fast break points, 10-6, and points off the bench, 20-13.
