BOCA RATON, Fla. – Leading the Owls in the Thanksgiving Classic, including a strong 65-50 win over Manhattan,
Mya Perry was named the American Athletic Conference Honorable Mention on Monday.
The honor marks the third weekly award for the Owls and Mya's first this season.
Mya Perry led the Owls this week against Manhattan and Austin Peay. She finished with a team-leading 12.5 points per game, shooting 39 percent from the field (9-of-23) and 3-point range (5-of-13), and a perfect 100 percent (2-of-2) from the line, and added six rebounds, two assists, a pair of steals, and a block. Against Manhattan, Perry tallied 11 points, shooting 30 percent (4-of-13) from the field and 33 percent (3-of-9) from beyond the arc, in addition to adding four boards, a steal, and a block in the win over the Jaspers. She then finished the week with 14 points, shooting 50 percent (5-of-10) from the floor, 50 percent (2-of-4) from 3-point range, and 100 percent (2-of-2) from the line, and added two assists, two rebounds, and a steal against Austin Peay.
The Owls head to the Lone Star State this week for a midweek matchup against the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Schollmaier Arena.
