Erin Rodgers was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office Monday.
The honor marks the second weekly honor for the Owls this season and back-to-back awards for Rodgers.
Erin Rodgers had a tremendous week for the Owls, leading the team offensively in a pair of wins over North Florida and Bethune-Cookman. Rodgers tallied a team-leading 28 points, averaging 14 points per game, shooting 63 percent (12-of-19) from the field, while also adding 13 rebounds, averaging 6.5 per contest, and adding four assists and a steal across the two games. Rodgers opened the week with 13 points, shooting 56 percent (5-of-9) from the field and 33 percent (1-of-3) from 3-point range, adding six boards and an assist against North Florida. She then followed that up with 15 points, shooting 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field and 100 percent (1-of-1) from the line, adding seven boards, three assists, and a steal vs. Bethune-Cookman.
The Owls head back on the road this Tuesday as they head to DeLand, Florida for a midweek road matchup against the Stetson Hatters. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
