BOCA RATON, Fla. – Conference USA released its all-conference teams for men's golf on Monday. Florida Atlantic was represented by
Alex Maguire on the second team and
Max Sturdza on the third team.
The second team selection is a step up for Maguire after the Irishman earned a place on the third team in 2022. Maguire finished the season with his best performance of the campaign, posting a tie for fourth at the C-USA Championship. His 72.60 scoring average was second best on the Owls by a narrow margin. Maguire finished in the Top 25 in six of the 10 events this season.
Sturdza earned his spot on the third team for the third consecutive season. He led the Owls with a 73.25 scoring average. After battling an injury early in the spring season, the senior from Switzerland returned to form at the Auburn Tiger Invitational in early March where he finished runner-up after three straight rounds of 69.
Head coach Mark Leon
"We are extremely proud of Max and Alex and their effort this year in earning all-conference honors. From the moment they stepped on campus in 2019, they have helped elevate the standard of FAU golf. They have continued to show they are among the best players in C-USA. We are excited to have them back next year to lead our program to new benchmarks."
