BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team is in the home stretch of the 2022-23 regular season. The FAU Owls will host the Rice Owls on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

- FAU's 20-game winning streak, which spanned 83 days and was the longest in the nation, was snapped by UAB last week, but the Owls recovered strong with a 15-point road win over Charlotte next time out
- The win over the 49ers broke the FAU single season school record
- The Owls took it to the 49ers in the second half and limited Charlotte to only 12 points scored in the first 18+ minutes of the half
- FAU's defense held Charlotte to only 31.8% shooting from the floor in the second half. The Owls have limited their opponents to 40.2% shooting this season, which leads C-USA and ranks 31st in the nation
- On the flip side, FAU was over 50% as a team from the floor, shooting 55.3% (26-of-47)
- Vladislav Goldin led the way for the Owls with a 6-of-7 shooting effort from the floor that resulted in 15 points. On the week, Goldin shot 11-of-15 (73.3%) from the field and averaged 14 points
- Goldin is leading the Owls in field goal percentage by a wide margin, with a clip of 64.2% (95-of-148) on the season
- Michael Forrest became the Owls' all-time leading 3-point shooter with two trifectas against Charlotte. Forrest has knocked down 288 triples throughout his career and has scored 1,511 points, which is 10 points behind Paul Graham III for third place all-time in school history
- The Owls have recorded more assists than their opponents in 22 of their 24 games this season, in which the Owls are 21-1. FAU has also recorded 10 or more assists in the last seven games and 10 out of the last 11 games
