Aniya Hubbard had another stellar week for the Owls as she earned her fifth C-USA Freshman of the Week honor after recording two 20-point performances in the Owls' road trips at UTSA and UTEP.
Aniya leads all C-USA freshmen this season with five weekly honors and the Owls lead all teams in C-USA with the program's sixth award this season.
Aniya Hubbard played a huge role for the Owls this week against UTSA and UTEP. Hubbard averaged 21 points per game, while also collecting 5.5 rebounds per game, dishing out three assists, blocking a pair of shots, and grabbing a steal.
Hubbard opened the week scoring 20 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field, including 1-of-3 from 3-point range, and 3-of-5 from the free throw line, and adding five rebounds against the Roadrunners. Hubbard followed it up with her seventh 20-plus point performance of the season, scoring a game-high 22 points on 9-of-14 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line, while also adding six rebounds, dishing out three assists, blocking a pair of shots, and grabbing one steal against the Miners.
The Owls close out the regular season this weekend, hosting the Rice Owls on Thursday, March 2 for a 7 p.m. tip, before welcoming the LA Tech Lady Techsters for the Owls' Senior Day on Saturday, March 4 at 2 p.m.
