BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic beach volleyball's
Jillienne Cangelosi has been named a finalist for Palm Beach County Sports Commission's (PBCSC) Amateur Athlete of the Year award. The award winner will be announced at the PBCSC's Hall of Fame Banquet on April 2, 2023.
The Hall of Fame Banquet will welcome seven new inductees and honor annual award winners in several different categories. The banquet is a full program which annually raises money for the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and youth sports in Palm Beach County.
During the fall, Cangelosi was named Conference USA November Pair of the Month after competing with
Christine Jarman as the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Championships.
Last season, Cangelosi posted a 16-8 overall record pairing with
Christine Jarman. The duo earned a 13-7 record on court four, while going 1-0 on court three, and 2-1 on court five for the Owls.
FAU will open up the 2023 season on Friday, Feb. 24 in DeLand at the Stetson's season-opening tournament.
