BOCA RATON, Fla. – Selina Staudenherz, a junior on the Florida Atlantic University swimming & diving team, has been named to CSCAA Second Team Scholar All-America honors.
Staudenherz takes home the prestigious academic recognition after posting a 3.86 GPA while majoring in multimedia studies: film, video and new media. In order to be named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 GPA while having qualified for and competed in an NCAA Diving Zone Championship Meet, or having achieved an NCAA 'B' cut standard time.
On the boards, Staudenherz put forward a strong sophomore season. She posted two of the top 10 scores all-time in FAU program history. Against FIU, Staudenherz dove to a score of 282.68 in the 1-meter, which is good for seventh-best all-time. Her score of 302.20 in the 3-meter dive, which Staudenherz achieved in the Conference USA Championships, is good for fifth-best in program history.
