FAU Adds Four Transfers to Roster

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University head women's soccer coach Patrick Baker has added a quartet of transfer student-athletes to bolster his roster. The Owls will welcome Emily Schleifer, Bailey Sweginnis, Alexa Gonzalez and Blythe Braun to Boca Raton.

Braun joins the Owls after playing a season for the Iowa Hawkeyes. During her last season playing for Downers Grove High School, Braun was an IHSSCA All-State Team honoree, as well as a West Suburban All-Conference team recipient. She posted a 0.92 goals against average with 114 saves during her senior campaign.
Alexa Gonzalez, McAllen, Tx. (McAllen High School) University of Arkansas, Goalkeeper
Gonzalez joins the Owls after playing as an Arkansas Razorback last season. Over the course of her high school career, the McAllen Texas native was an All-Area Female Athlete of the Year, as well as a three-time all-district 30-6A Goalie of the Year. She was also an All-Valley 6A Female Athlete of the Year in both soccer and volleyball.
Emily Schleifer, Lake Worth, Fla. (America Heritage High School) University of Tennessee, Midfielder
Schleifer returns home to the south Florida area after playing for the Tennessee Volunteers last season. She recorded her first collegiate goal against Tennessee Tech. While she played for American Heritage, Schleifer was a First-Team All-American and a two-time Florida Player of the Year.
Bailey Sweginnis, Coral Springs, Fla. (Coral Springs Charter School), South Florida, Midfielder
Sweginnis comes closer to home after playing a season for South Florida. At Coral Springs Charter, she was a Miami Herald First Team selection in her junior and senior years. Sweginnis was the team's leader in goals in both her junior and senior season.

Blythe Braun, Downers Grove, Ill. (Downers Grove North High School) University of Iowa, GoalkeeperBraun joins the Owls after playing a season for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
