Texarkana, Ark. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team increased its lead at the Conference USA Championship on Tuesday. The Owls now hold a four-shot advantage in the team competition while junior
Max Sturdza is two shots off the individual lead. The individual champion will be crowned on Wednesday
- The Owls' team total of 286 was one higher than Southern Miss. and Louisiana Tech for lowest in the field
- Sturdza matched his birdie total of five from Monday's opening round and signed for a two-under, 70. At -6, he's two behind La. Tech's James Swash
- Alex Maguire got off to a slow start on Tuesday but turned his day around with a birdie at the par-five seventh
- He played his last 12 holes in four-under and finished the day in a tie for eighth (-2)
- Jake Hibbert and Guilherme Grinberg are each tied for 15th at even-par
- Juan Delgado (+2) signed for his second straight 73 and is tied for 27th
- Wednesday will be the final day of stroke play. The top four in the team competition will advance to match play on Thursday
- The Owls prospects for advancing to match play are promising after 36 holes. FAU is 15 shots ahead of Charlotte in fifth place
The Owls will be paired with Southern Miss. and UTSA on Wednesday
