BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team wrapped up the first of two days at the Tom Jones Memorial Meet at the University of Florida on Friday. The first day saw a mix of distance runs, sprints, and field events as the Owls competed in four events: the Long Jump, the 1500m, the 200m, and the 5000m.

- Casey O'Connor continued her strong outdoor season in the 1500m run. Her time of 4:40.56 is now ninth all time in FAU history. All three of her 1500m runs this season are top 10 program marks
- Erin Shannon also had a good performance in her first ever outdoor 1500m run, finishing with a time of 4:50.27
- Cara Simpson was the best among of trio of owls running the 200m, finishing with a time of 24.50
- In the 5000m, Morgan Sharp and Alexis Hill placed seventh and eighth, respectivelyÂ
