Moon, Svozilova Tabbed C-USA Pair of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the first time of their careers, Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball student-athletes Courtney Moon and Marketa Svozilova have earned Conference USA Pair of the Week. This marks the third time this season an FAU pair has been honored with the weekly award, which is the most among all C-USA schools.

This past weekend, the court two pair went 4-0 at the Paradise Classic, winning each of their four matches in straight sets. The pair was a big piece in guiding the program to achieve a school record in most wins in a regular season (19), as well as helping the Owls stay undefeated at home this season with a perfect 8-0 record. Moon/Svozilova gave the Owls their first point of the duals in three of four matches this weekend.

The pair began Friday's play with a 21-12, 21-15 straight-set win over Palm Beach Atlantic and followed that up with a 22-20, 21-12 victory over No. 20 Florida Gulf Coast. On Saturday, the pair dominated over Saint Leo to win, 21-16, 21-11. Moon/Svozilova then finished out the weekend with another straight-set win over top 20 FGCU, 21-17, 21-19.

Playing all of their matches as a pair on court two this season, the pair is 16-6 with its 16 wins being tied for the most wins as a pair on flight two in school history. The pair's 16 wins marks the seventh most achieved by a pair in their career at FAU.

Beach volleyball is closing out the regular season in Miami on Friday, April 15 at the FIU Tournament. FAU will play Tulane first at 12:30 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. match against FIU.
