DALLAS – Sophomore setter
Noelle Stephens was recognized as a 2022 Conference USA All-Academic Team honoree, announced by the league office on Friday.
The honor marks Nono's first all-academic selection. In addition to being named to the all-academic team, Nono was also named to the Owls Paradise Classic and FGCU Invitational all-tournament teams earlier this season.
The Winter Park, Florida native has had a standout sophomore season for the Owls. She holds a remarkable 3.94 GPA while studying Psychology.
Nono has played in and started all 25 matches and 91 sets this season for the Owls. She leads the team in assists (815) and assists per set (8.96), helping lead the Owls to a third-place ranking in C-USA for total assists (1,142) and assists per set (12.55) as a team. Nono also ranks third on the team in digs (163) and digs per set (1.79). She has recorded six double-doubles this season in assists and digs. Nono has also set multiple career marks this season, recording a career-best 61 assists, in addition to adding a career-high 16 digs against FIU on Oct. 28. She also posted a career-best four kills against Alcorn State on Sept. 2 and a career-high four service aces against Jacksonville on Sept. 10.
The Owls will next head down to Miami to take on rival FIU on Saturday, Nov. 12 for their regular-season finale. First serve is set for noon inside Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
