BOCA RATON, Fla. – The FAU men's swimming & diving team has earned another weekly award. The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association announced on Tuesday afternoon that
Rateb Hussein has won Swimmer of the Week. This is Hussein's first weekly honor of the season and eighth of his collegiate career.
The senior and reigning 2022 CCSA Swimmer of the Year stepped up in a big way in last Friday's meet against Keiser. Hussein was the winner of the 100 fly (49.42) and 200 fly (1:51.10). Both are the top times for the Owls this season. He was also a member of the first place 400 free relay team (3:03.66) and the second place 200 medley relay team that came up short by a tenth of a second. (1:30.77) Hussein contributed 18 points and was the top scorer for Florida Atlantic as they won the meet 143-119.
The Owls are off to a strong start this season with four weekly awards in the season's opening month. They are set to host Nova this Friday Nov. 4 for their second home meet of the 2022-23 season.
