BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University head swimming & diving coach
Lara Preacco has announced the hiring of Alik Sarkisian as diving coach.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Alik to our coaching staff," Preacco said. "Alik brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge as well as an incredible passion for diving, which he is eager to share with our team. As a coaching staff, we are looking forward to another amazing year, and Alik will be a tremendous addition to our team."
Sarkisian arrives to FAU after a three-year stint as head diving coach at UNLV. He also previously served 13 years as the head diving coach for Northwestern University, where he was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2018. Among his many highlights from his decorated career are serving as the USA Team Head Coach in 2015 and coaching both the USSR National Team and Armenian National Team.
Sarkisian graduated in 1980 from the USSR State University of Physical Education in Yerevan, Armenia. He also competed professionally in the USSR and has 13 Armenian national titles.
