BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University swimming & diving team and head coach
Lara Preacco has announced the 2021-22 schedule on Thursday. This marks Preacco's eighth season at the helm.
"We are very excited to start our season and more importantly start competing," said Preacco. "Some of our athletes have not competed in more than a year, and they are both excited and anxious to race. After last year, our swimmers and divers are looking forward to showing their skills and talent while having a ton of fun in the process, Finally, we can't wait for the return of our FAU Owl parents, our best supporters."

After holding the intersquad meet on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m., the Owls will host their home opener against Indian River State on Friday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. Just a week later, FAU will play host to the Florida Gators for a 10 a.m. meet on Saturday, Oct. 2.

A select number of swimmers and divers will partake in the TYR Classic hosted by FIU on Friday, Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m.

The Owls will then be back at FAU Aquatic Center for a three-meet homestand, beginning with a meet vs. Keiser on Friday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m., followed by a scrimmage vs. the men's and women's teams from Princeton on Friday, Oct. 22 at 3:30 p.m. The program will host the annual Alumni & Family Meet during homecoming weekend on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m.

To wrap up mid-season, FAU will head back to George Mason University for the Patriot Invitational from Nov. 18 to 20.

On January 1, the team will hold the New Year Extravaganza, as they host Old Dominion and Army at 11 a.m. The final meets in January are versus Miami and Boston College at UM (Thursday, Jan. 6), St. Thomas as FAU's Senior Day meet at FAU Aquatic Center (Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m.) and a C-USA showdown with the women against FIU (Saturday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m.).

The divers will compete at the Pre-Conference Diving Invite against FIU and Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Feb. 7 in Coral Springs, Florida prior to the conference championships. The men's team is set for the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championship from February 16-19 at Liberty. On the women's side, the team will compete in their conference championship at the Conference USA Championship from February 23-26 at Georgia Tech.

March consists of the NCAA Diving Zone B Championships, National Invitational Championship and the women's and men's NCAA Championships.
