BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced its 2020-21 All-American Scholars on Tuesday, and five Florida Atlantic University women's golfers made the cut.
Olivia Bergner,
Blanka Decker,
Justine Fournand, Arielle Keating and
Rosa Barnak all earned the honors by earning cumulative GPA's above 3.50.
This is third consecutive year in which FAU, which posted a 3.606 team GPA in 2020-21, had at least four WGCA All-American Scholars.
FAU made strides athletically as well as academically in 2020-21. The Owls finished a team-best sixth at the Conference USA Tournament; set records in team stroke average (299.06), Par 3 average (3.1936), Par 4 average (4.2678) and Par 5 average (5.0699); and reached a program-best 90
th in Golfweek's rankings. Individually,
Justine Fournand won C-USA's
Golfer of the Year award and became the second FAU player to qualify for an
NCAA Regional.
The Owls hope to continue their athletic and academic strides in 2021-22.
