BOCA RATON, Fla – Florida Atlantic University women's golf announced the addition of Letizia Bagnoli on Monday. Bagnoli, a Florence, Italy native, comes to the Owls via transfer from Wake Forest and will be eligible to play in fall 2021.
As a freshman in 2018-19, Bagnoli played in all 11 of the Demon Deacon's events and helped the team secure an ACC Championship. She posted six par-or-better rounds and three top-20 finishes that season, including a third-place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate.
Bagnoli improved off her freshman campaign in a condensed 2019-20 season, recording a career-best 73.75 stroke average over 12 rounds.
"Leti brings a wealth of experience to our program," FAU coach
Aimee Neff said. "I believe she will make an immediate impact on our team as we continue to strive for new heights. We are thrilled to have her joining us in Paradise! Go Owls!"
Prior to Wake Forest, Bagnoli dominated at the international level. She played on the second-place Italian Girls National Team at the 2017 European Girls Team Championship in addition to winning that year's Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship and the Italian Ladies Match Play Championship. At the 2017 Spanish Ladies Amateur Championship, Bagnoli helped her squad reach the semifinals.
Bagnoli will join an FAU team that recorded its best-ever stroke average (299.06) and Golfweek ranking (No. 79) a season ago.Â
