MACON, Ga. – After earning medalist honors in Florida Atlantic University's last tournament,
Justine Fournand is on a similar trajectory at the Brickyard Collegiate.
Fournand is tied for second through the tournament's first two rounds with a 144, only one stroke from first. Her 69 from Round One was the best of anyone in the field thus far.
Blanka Decker (T32) and
Olivia Bergner (T37), two freshmen from Germany, were FAU's next-best performers. They posted a 156 and a 157, respectively.
The 95th-ranked Owls (619) sit in seventh as a team after Day One of the Brickyard Collegiate, above No. 41 UNF.
Fournand's impressive showing on Day One of the Brickyard Collegiate comes soon after her earning Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors. In the tournament she won that award from, the Low Country Intercollegiate, Fournand placed first with a two-round 136. That was her second career tournament win.Â
