DADE CITY, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's
Justine Fournand surged toward the top of the Conference USA Championship leaderboard on Tuesday, posting a 71 (-1) in Round Two to rank seventh with 18 holes to go. Â
The 91
st-ranked Owls (601) improved to eighth place as a team on Day Two. Outside of Fournand, FAU is getting solid contributions from
Rosa Barnak and
Blanka Decker. Barnak is tied for 28
th through two rounds after posting a 74 in the second frame, a two-shot improvement from Round One. Decker is tied for 32
nd with a two-round 152.
FAU played less than 18 holes on Tuesday, as it began Round Two on Monday in anticipation of inclement weather. That caution was warranted, as lightning in the Dade City area forced a brief suspension of play on Tuesday afternoon.
FAU will play the C-USA Championship's final round on Wednesday at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. Live stats are available
here. If Fournand remains in her current position of No. 8, she will be the highest C-USA Championship finisher in program history.
