ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team (5-4) were on the courts early Saturday morning with a look of determination. That determination saw the Owls quickly dispense of Florida A&M (0-5), 7-0.
With the third doubles court secured by default, courts one and two made quick work of their matches to secure the day's first point. Singles play started with court No. 6 determined by default and then after Natalie Kallmunzerova went up on court No. 3, her opponent withdrew for medical reasons. Now up 3-0, the attention turned to courts 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Both Katrina Filip, on court No. 4, and May Kimhi on court No. 5, finished their matches nearly simultaneously to secure the victory. Then, Natalia Boltinskaya closed out her match in straight sets to bring the attention to Martina Kudelova on court No. 6. Kudelova had won her first set 6-1 and was down in set two, before winning the next four games to win her match and complete the perfect sweep of FAMU.
