BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team was set to compete in three matches this weekend, but the first two have been canceled, as an originally scheduled Saturday doubleheader in Tallahassee is off. Instead, the Owls (1-2) will now travel directly to Mobile, Alabama, and take on South Alabama on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Owls' Weekend in Review
The Owls fell in both matches in the Grand Canyon State, to Arizona State (4-3) and Arizona (7-0). With four matches in the books,
Gerard Escandell and
Alvaro Fernandez Horta pace the team with two singles wins each, while the No. 1 doubles duo of
Maxime Lapraille and
Filip Krolo also has two victories.
Owls' Weekend in Preview
South Alabama has played in one match thus far this year, a 4-2 loss to Florida State on Jan. 22. Julian Evrard was rewarded for his performance against the Seminoles with Sun Belt Player of the Week honors. The Jaguars also have the No. 52 doubles team nationally according to Oracle/ITA in Loic Cloes and Clement Marzol. Last season, USA was 5-6 on the young season, which included a 4-3 loss to FAU in Boca Raton in early February.

What's Next
The Owls will host their home opener at the FAU Tennis Complex, against Florida Gulf Coast, on Saturday, Feb. 13. First serve will be at 2 p.m. Admission is free but limited, and fans are asked to follow all social distancing and mask protocols.
