BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (8-6-2, 2-4-2 in Conference USA) will take on tournament host (RV) Charlotte (10-5, 5-3 in C-USA) in the opening round of the 2021 C-USA Men's Soccer Championship. FAU will serve as the No. 6 seed with its matchup versus the No.-3 seeded 49ers set for Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Transamerica Field in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Coach
Joey Worthen and company continue to turnaround the program. The team earned a spot in the C-USA Tournament for the second time since belonging in the conference, which was also the first time receiving a postseason berth overall since 2007. The team has also logged back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
FAU faced Charlotte on Oct. 16 in Boca Raton, as the 49ers won 5-1.
Filip Jauk tallied his seventh of eight goals scored this season in the match. The winner of the rematch on Wednesday will face the reigning National Champions, 2-seeded Marshall, on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
