Lara Preacco has announced the hiring of
Tyler Beard as FAU diving coach.

Tyler Beard to the FAU Swimming & Diving family," Preacco said. "Tyler's joy and passion for diving has already been felt by our divers, swimmers, and coaches alike. He is hardworking and excited to help our athletes, our program and FAU continue to reach our highest goals."

Beard joins the Owls' program after serving three years as an assistant coach at the Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. During his tenure there, Beard coached two state champion swimming & diving teams. He has coached multiple individual state champions and diving record holders. Prior to his stay at Pine Crest, Beard was the head diving coach at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale.

"I am very excited to get the opportunity to coach alongside a staff that is so passionate about this sport and their athletes," Beard said. "I'm humbled to be able to help these athletes reach their goals."

Beard was a collegiate diver himself at University of North Carolina from 2010-2013. He graduated as a Tar Heel with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2014.
