BOCA RATON, Fla. – A day after winning her third fall tournament in as many tries, and helping to lead the Owls' squad to its second straight team victory, Florida Atlantic University women's golfer
Letizia Bagnoli has once again been honored by Conference USA, as the league's Women's Co-Golfer of the Week.
Â
The senior and native of Florence, Italy, is now three-for-three as tournament medalist – and three-for-three in being chosen for this weekly conference honor – since joining the FAU program. At the Jupiter Women's Invitiational, she was the only player among the field of 55 to shoot under par in each round, and won with a final tally of 8-under par. She was second in total pars (38) and third in birdies (12), and tied with teammate
Blanka Decker for the best showing on Par-5 holes at -7. The Owls overcame an 11-stroke deficit after round one to win the event by four shots.
The Owls have one more fall tournament in front of them, Oct. 16-18 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, at the Pat Bradley Invitational.
