BOCA RATON, Fla.Â
– Emma Grissom, a senior member of the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team, has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic team. Grissom is one of just 11 student-athletes in the entire conference to receive the honor.
Grissom's accolades are well-deserved for a career of excellence in the classroom. The hospitality management & marketing double major currently has a grade point average of 3.75, and she has maintained over a 3.5 GPA throughout the duration of her academic career.
For her efforts, Grissom was named to the FAU President's List (4.0 GPA in a semester) twice (fall 2018 and fall 2019) and to the Dean's List once (fall 2020). The senior midfielder is on track to graduate this fall magna cum laude for an FAU GPA of at least 3.70.
On the pitch, Grissom has been a consistent contributor for the Owls, making 43 starts in 67 appearances at the midfield spot.
The last Owl to earn Conference USA All-Academic honors was Grissom's classmate,
Cassidy Wasdin, after the spring 2021 season. This marks the ninth consecutive season that FAU has received a C-USA All-Academic honoree. There have been 12 Owls honored during that span of time.
FAU will return to the pitch for the Conference USA Championship Tournament at their home field. The Owls face Charlotte on Nov. 1 at 7 pm.
