BOCA RATON, Fla. – Rosa Barnak of the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team was tabbed Conference USA Golfer of the Week following her and the team's performance at the Pat Bradley Invitational, their final tournament of the fall slate. With Barnak's award, the women's team was four-for-four in C-USA Golfer of the Week awards this fall.
Barnak finished among a group of three players that were just a single stroke behind the Pat Bradley individual medalist. The Owls' senior and native of Humblebaek, Denmark, was the only golfer in the field of 78 to finish under par in every round, with three straight 71's, climbing seven spots after round two (13th to six) and another four on Monday.
Among the entrants, Barnak finished tied for first on Par-4 holes at 3-under, and tied for second with 12 birdies. She also led the team's climb from 10th to eighth to sixth – and just a stroke out of the top five – at the conclusion of the three-day event.
The fall portion of the team's schedule is complete, and the Owls will return home to prep for the spring. The opener comes in February in a home-hosted event. The FAU Paradise Invitational is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 7 and Tuesday, Feb. 8, and will be held at Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton.
