Women’s Tennis Posts Second of Back-to-Back Wins

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Is this day like the other one? Florida Atlantic University's women's tennis team (8-3) played its third opponent in four days, all with a bulldog as their mascot. The last two were wins and the last two also had rain delays shortly after the doubles point had been decided. Wednesday's 4-0 victory was over Samford (7-6).

Admittedly, the day started under a heavy gray/black cloud cover, but the Owls breezed through the doubles matches securing the point in less than 30 minutes with a 6-1 win on court No. 1 and a 6-0 victory on court No. 2. Five minutes later, singles began and FAU had secured a set win on each of the courts before the matches were suspended for rain. In less than an hour, the Owls were back in game mode and securing the win 4-0 with wins on courts 5, 3 and 2.

The match to watch continues to be whatever court Natalie Kallmunzerova is assigned. Kallmunzerova was the first to finish, putting FAU up 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win. The victory pushes her season record to double digit wins and she remains perfect in dual match play at 10-0.

Natalia Boltinskaya moved her record to 4-3, stepping off the courts just after Kallmunzerova with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Martina Kudelova ran her match win streak to three in a row with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court No.2, which also secured the victory for the Owls.
