Final Results
MIAMI– The Florida Atlantic University women's swimming & diving team posted several top finishes on Saturday morning at FIU, but fell short of the Panthers. FAU recorded four first-place finishes, six second place feats and eight third place showings in the 175-103 loss in Miami.
- The 200 medley relay team of Abby Marshall, Fatimah Westbrook, Grace Molinaro and Mackenzie Brown started the day with second place in the 200 medley relay (1:45.41)
- Marshall had an incredible day in Miami, putting up two individual first place finishes in the 100 back (56.63) and 200 back (2:05.65)
- Westbrook finished the 100 breast in second (1:05.54) and 100 free in third (53.63)
- Spence Atkins captured first place in the 200 fly with a time of 2:05.57. Danica Garbett followed in third (2:06.33)
- Brown came up with a huge first place showing in the 50 free (24.47)
- Kirsten Hobson finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:20.27 and was followed by Sharon Kok in third (5:22.36)
- Sarah Martin put up third in the 200 free (1:55.25) and Hobson took third in the 200 back (2:10.46). Haley O'Meara also touched the wall third in the 200 breast (2:27.29)
- Atkins later tallied second in the 400 IM (4:33.84), as Garbett followed in third (4:35.96)
- Brown, Westbrook, Kelsey Witkay and Marshall ended the day of swimming with second in the 200 free relay (1:38.90)
- Alicia Mora tallied second in the 1-meter (293.48)
- Malvina Catalano scored 273.30 to tally third in the 3-meter
The divers will have one last meet on Friday in Coral Springs before the men's and women's respective conference championships. FAU's men's team will take on the Costal Collegiate Sports Association Championships from Feb. 19-22 in Knoxville, Tenn., while the women will head to Atlanta for the Conference USA Championships from Feb. 26-29.
