Fournand Wins Second Consecutive Tournament

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University golfer Justine Fournand won the Miami Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. After posting a 72 in Round 1, Fournand shot consecutive 73s - amidst windy conditions - over the final two rounds to claim a two-stroke victory. The tournament took place Monday and Tuesday at the Trump National Doral golf course.
This is Fournand's second straight victory, as she also won the Atlantic Collegiate Invitational at the Jupiter Country Club on Oct. 27.
"It is awesome to see Justine put together back to back wins!" FAU coach Aimee Neff said. "She fought hard in tough, windy conditions the last few days and held true to her gameplan and did a great job making clutch putts. She continues to grow and develop as a person and player and it is encouraging to see her relentless effort pay dividends."
Fournand, a sophomore, is coming off a dominant debut season. In 2019-20, she set single-season program records in stroke average (72.90), eagles (three), Par 3 (3.0625) scoring average and Par 4 scoring average (4.1384). She also won a tournament, finished in the top-three twice and added three more top-20 finishes.
FAU women's golf and Fournand will not compete as a team this fall but hope to return to tournament play this spring.
