Stephenson also assisted the senior associate athletics director for governance and compliance in the development and enhancement of a compliance rules education program all while helping with rules interpretations, violations and waivers.
Additionally, Stephenson provided NCAA & ACC rules interpretations and education to coaches, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, athletics department staff members, boosters, and the general public and designed and implemented the elite student-athlete monitoring/agent and advisor program.

Stephenson also served two compliance internships at East Carolina University and at University of North Carolina.
A men's tennis player at North Carolina Central University, Stephenson is a member of the Missouri Bar and the American Bar Association.
