Men’s Basketball to Host Inaugural Boca Raton Beach Classic

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University men's basketball announced the field of teams and brackets for the inaugural Boca Raton Beach Classic presented by Sport Changes Life on Wednesday. The event will be held in conjunction with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Games will be played on Sunday, Dec. 1 and Monday, Dec. 2 at Abessinio Court at FAU Arena, on the campus of FAU.
"We are extremely excited about the upcoming Boca Raton Beach Classic," said FAU head men's basketball coach Dusty May. "We are proud to partner with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and are looking forward to hosting seven quality basketball programs here in Boca Raton. We know this means a lot to our university, and we couldn't be happier for our alumni, fans and the community to have this tournament take place on our campus."
In addition to the host Owls, the field will consist of Canisius, Hofstra, Holy Cross, UIC, Mercer, San Diego, and St. Bonaventure. The eight teams will be split into two separate four-team brackets. FAU will also play home games against Holy Cross and Canisius on November 29 and December 3, respectively, as part of the tournament.
"We know our visitors to Paradise are in for a great experience," said FAU vice president and director of athletics Brian White. "We look forward to welcoming everyone to South Florida for what will be a wonderful tournament."
