Women’s Soccer Returns to the Practice Field

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team, fresh off a share of last year's Conference USA regular season title, rolled out the soccer balls on Wednesday for the first official practice of the preseason.

FAUSports.com had the opportunity to catch up with head coach Patrick Baker as well as two of the team's 10 seniors, Elisha Holmes and Jessica Monteiro (see link above). All told, there are 14 returning upperclassmen and five sophomores from that squad, along with 11 Owls that could potentially debut in 2019 (eight true freshmen, a junior transfer, and two players that utilized a redshirt in their first season last year).

The season kicks off in just over two weeks' time, with two home matches on opening weekend, against Florida and Grand Canyon (Aug. 23 and 25, respectively). Stay tuned for more preseason ink on the squad between now and then.
