BOCA RATON, Fla. – With the academic year quickly approaching, Florida Atlantic University men's golf coach
Ryan Jamison has announced his team's 2019-20 schedule.
"Our 2019-20 schedule will be our strongest schedule in FAU history," said Jamison. "We're looking forward to attending new events at the University of New Mexico, West Virginia University, University of Wyoming, and Stanford University. Our team will play against the best teams in the country. To know what it takes to be the best, you have to play against the best. We look forward to taking a huge step in the right direction this year."
The squad tees off the year at the Golfweek Program Championship Sept. 8-10 at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. They'll continue into the fall with the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate tournament hosted by New Mexico Sept. 27-28. The event will be played at UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Owls will wrap up the fall portion of the schedule in October with two more tournaments. First they'll play in the Mountaineer Invitational Oct. 7-8. The tournament is hosted by West Virginia in Bridgeport at the Pete Dye Golf Club. Then FAU will play in the Georgetown Intercollegiate tournament for the third consecutive season. It will be played Oct. 14-15 in Beallsville, Maryland at the Four Streams Golf Club.
FAU will open the spring season at the Desert Intercollegiate tournament hosted by Wyoming Feb. 21-23. The event will be played at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California. The Owls will play a total of three tournaments in March starting with the 2020 Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club. The tournament is played March 2-3 and is hosted by Loyola University Maryland. The Owls will play in the 2020 Tiger Invitational hosted by Auburn March 8-10 in Opelika, Alabama the RTG Golf Trail. Then March 26-28, FAU will compete in The Goodwin, a tournament hosted by reigning 2019 NCAA Champions Stanford.
In April, the Owls will travel to Pearland, Texas for the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Golfcrest Country Club. The tournament will be held April 13-14 and is hosted by Houston.
The Conference USA Championship will once again be played in Texarkana, Arkansas on April 27-30.
