CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) released the programs with the top 25 team grade point averages in the nation and that list included the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team.
The Owls came in at 17th overall with a GPA of 3.716 as a team for the 2018-19 academic year. That mark was the top mark in Conference USA with only one other league team making the cut.
New Mexico earned the top GPA with an average of 3.903 as a team.
Earlier this week four Owls earned All-American Scholar accolades.
Tai Barber,
Amanda Leslie,
Taylor Morgan and
Arielle Keating were recognized for recording some of the nation's top GPAs as individuals.
The FAU women's golf team is no stranger to academic success. The squad has recorded the highest team GPA at FAU for five consecutive semesters. The team also earned the Owl Cup for the 2018-19 season, which is awarded to the FAU team who earns the most points through academic achievement, community service, game attendance, life skills events, etc. Overall, the team logged over 180 hours of community service.
