Men's Golf Concludes First Day of C-USA Championship

TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team bounced back from a tough first round with a strong second round on the first day of the Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club. The Owls moved up two spots from round one to two, ending the day in 11th place after tying for the fifth best score of the second round.

Round three of the C-USA Championship will take place on Tuesday. Fans can follow along with live results provided by the league here.

QUICK HITS

After day one, Patrick Poate leads the Owls on the leaderboard tied for 27th place overall. Poate recovered from a 77 in the first round for a 71 in the second, helping him move up 18 spots. Poate has the second most birdies on the team with six so far through two rounds of play
Karan Nalam is the second Owl on the board with a 76 and 74, tying him for 36th place. Nalam leads FAU with seven birdies in the tournament so far
Lynes Behling also had a much stronger second round with a 72 after carding a 79 in the first. Behling heads into the third round tied for 41st place
Sully Zagerman carded a 77 and 75 in the first two rounds to tie for 45th place
Bruce Morrison, Jr. shot a 78 and 84 to tie for 64th place
The Owls shot 308 in the first round and had a 292 in the second to finish the day 24-over par. FAU sits five strokes back from 10th place North Texas and four strokes ahead of 12th place Old Dominion
UTSA has the lead heading into Tuesday, shooting 1-under par through two rounds
