Women’s Tennis Downs WKU to Advance to C-USA Quarterfinals

The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team defeated WKU, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon to advance to the Conference USA Championship quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. The No. 3-seeded Owls will face Charlotte (No. 6) at 3 p.m. Eastern on Friday.

The Owls (9-7) captured the doubles point with a WKU (3-17) default at No. 3 and a 6-0 win by No. 2 May Kimhi/Martina Kudelova.

The teams then took to the singles courts with FAU holding a 1-0 advantage. Less than an hour later, Barbora Palcatova did not surrender a game in two sets to give FAU a 2-0 lead. On court No. 4, May Kimhi moved the score to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory and the match was clinched by Natalia Boltinskaya on court No. 2 (6-1, 6-2).
