Women's Golf Competes on Day One of C-USA Championship

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team hit the links for the first day of the Conference USA Championship in Fort Myers on Monday. The Owls finished the first round with a score of 305 (+17) to tie for 11th place. Round two will be played on Tuesday and the conclusion will be played on Wednesday.

GOLF FORE AFRICA
All this season the Owls will be teaming up with Golf Fore Africa to raise money for clean water in rural Africa. The team's goal is to raise enough money to build a well for a village in Zambia, providing clean water for an entire community.
One well costs $15,000 to build and brings clean water to 300 people for life. Just a $50 donation brings clean water to one person for a lifetime. To date, Golf Fore Africa has built 160 wells and FAU is looking to be the first collegiate program to raise complete funding for a well.

- Taylor Morgan led the Owls on Monday. Morgan carded a 74 for the first round and will head into the second round tied for 30th place overall
- Arielle Keating finished right below Morgan, shooting a 76 for the day and tying for 38th place
- Rosa Barnak was the next FAU golfer on the leaderboard, tied for 43rd place with a score of 77 for the first round
