BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team will be playing in the Seminole State Spring Break tournament hosted at the Timacuan Golf Course. The event will be played on Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6 and the players will be playing 36 holes.

COACH NEFF'S TAKE
"I believe our best golf is yet to be played this spring and competing this week is a good opportunity to put our foot on the gas. This team is getting better each day and I expect us to show it at Timacuan."
Â
THE FIELD
FAU will be taking the course alongside Eastern Florida State College, Detriot Mercy, Johnson & Whales, Southern Indiana, Concorida, Kaiser and host team Seminole State.
Â
THE STARTING FIVE
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls took second place at their lone home tournament of the spring season, the FAU Winter Warmup. FAU shot 600 for the tournament, including 297 on the second day.
Â
Tai Barber led the Owls, carding 141 for the two rounds for fourth place overall. Her 3-under score was a season low for the senior and her 70 on the second day tied her career low score. She birdied the last four holes to clinch fourth and was named Conference USA Golfer of the Week for her performance.
Â
GOLF FORE AFRICA
All this season the Owls will be teaming up with Golf Fore Africa to raise money for clean water in rural Africa. The team's goal is to raise enough money to build a well for a village in Zambia, providing clean water for an entire community.
Â
One well costs $15,000 to build and brings clean water to 300 people for life. Just a $50 donation brings clean water to one person for a lifetime. To date, Golf Fore Africa has built 160 wells and FAU is looking to be the first collegiate program to raise complete funding for a well.
