Men's Golf Concludes First Day of Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team concluded the first day of the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate tournament in seventh place, shooting 3-over for the day.

- The Owls took nine strokes off the second round score, after carding 294 in the first round. Their 285 in the second round was the lowest round score of the spring for FAU
- Sully Zagerman leads FAU after two rounds, shooting 4-under for the day. He shot 69 in the first round and followed with 71 in the second and goes into tomorrow's final round tied for fourth and seven strokes back from the leader
- Patrick Poate is tied for 23rd after two rounds. He took six strokes off his score from the first round (76) to the second (70) to move up 21 spots on the leaderboard. He had 10 birdies in the first two rounds, the third most in the tournament
- Bruce Morrison, Jr. also made a big improvement in the second round, carding 71 after going for 78 in the first. That jump took him up 20 places in the standings, tied for 36th. Morrison was one of only 10 players to eagle a hole on the first day
- Karan Nalam is tied along with Morrison, shooting 5-over for the day with a 76 and 73
- Brian Dolehide sits in a tie for 45th with a 7-over score. He carded 73 in the first round and 78 in the second
