FRISCO, Texas – Hampered all season by injuries, the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (5-25, 2-14 C-USA) had its injury woes take a toll in the first round of the Conference USA Championship first round on Wednesday at the Ford Center. The Owls played with only six active players against Old Dominion (21-9, 10-6 C-USA) and fell to the Monarchs, 60-32.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
The Owls started the game strong. FAU won the opening tip and scored the first points of the game just eight seconds in on a layup from
Abby Voss. A free throw from
Jamaria Williams put the Owls ahead by three. The Owls took a 7-2 lead at the 6:50 mark. Two minutes later, ODU tied the game and started an 8-0 run to take the lead. That lead would hold the rest of the game.
