Nikki Lakman Named C-USA Setter of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University junior Nikki Lakman has been named Conference USA Setter of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It is the first time in her career Lakman has won the award.

The Orlando, Florida product had a strong finish to the regular season, posting 35 assists and eight digs in a sweep of Middle Tennessee on Thursday. She followed that up with career highs in both assists (75) and digs (19) in a five-set comeback victory over Charlotte on Saturday. It was her fourth double-double of the year.

In the two matches, she averaged 13.88 assists and 3.38 digs per set. She leads the Owls with 665 assists so far this season.

The Owls will head to the Conference USA Tournament as the No. 5 seed and will play fourth-seeded Marshall at 3 p.m. Eastern on Friday, Nov. 22. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
